Viewing Royal Wedding at home in Japan
Must be a fun day in London :-)

Sent from my iPhoneI will be presenting for about an hour or so in English beginning at 6:00pm this Sunday (May 1) at the Apple Store in Shinsaibashi (Osaka, Japan). This is free, of course, and no reservation is needed. But get there about 15 minutes early to get a seat. As you can see in the pic above, the theatre is not very big. The reason for the presentation (I just did one there two weeks ago) is a sort of rehearsal for some material that I am using for a 4-week series for the NHK TV program called 英語でしゃべらナイト. A few NHK producers will be there. In May I will be presenting a seminar at NHK studios which will be recorded and used in the program to be aired in July. If you come Sunday you will see some familiar PZ and Naked themes but with a little different structure and also with a references to Aristotle's three means of persuasion as an organizing principle to expand on some of the concepts of effective presentation. Really hope to see you there this Sunday.
MapI think she is going to enjoy jet coasters when she is older. She already enjoys "flying" around the house...

1:00 pm here in Osaka...and it's raining outside, but spirits are high inside!
Sent from my iPhoneGetting ready in the morning. She is excited :-)
Sent from my iPhoneBefore PZ came out here a couple of years ago, most presentation books were very dull and very PowerPoint focused. Notions of simplicity and design or naturalness, and engagement, etc. were not to be found in this category. But that has all changed now. New books are coming out all the time. So we can hope, perhaps, that presentations in all their myriad forms in Japan will become more engaging, visual, and memorable (and enjoyable). Above are pics from various book stores in Japan sent to me today form my publisher at Nikkei. The シンプルプレゼン DVD/book is apparently doing very well in Japan (this book is for the Japanese market only). Thanks to everyone in Japan who has watched the DVD. iPhone snap taken this AM near our home in Nara.
Sent from my iPhoneAt home in Nara, Japan. Already such a lady in her party dress. Our daughter on her first birthday.
Later she changes into something a bit more comfortable. Take a drink and... Surprise! That was refreshing!
Noticed this poster in the subway today. Miffy is huge in Japan. A nice touch by Dutch designer Dick Bruna. Simple illustrations can be more powerful than words...
