Bill Gates' PPT graphics getting better, but graphs still need much improvement
I really liked Bill's presentation and follow-up interview (especially the interview). Really good stuff. Bill is doing amazing work and had some great comments on education in the US, global poverty, the economy, etc. His preso slides were better, but still his simple quantitative displays were way too small and impossible to read for those not in the front rows (these pics are low rez, but the text here on the slides is kind of how I saw it from the middle of the theatre live). Why not make the graphs bigger? There was lots of space on the slides that could have been used. Also, he should have used a 16:9 aspect ration instead of the old 4:3 Actually, too many presenters are using 4:3 (for example, 800x600). TED has a full 16:9 screen this year -- very nice. By next year I hope all presenters get the word to go 16:9 (for example 1280x720).
