Been watching all four full episodes (so far) of Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution this weekend. Damn, it's good! As I said before, I am so right behind what Oliver is trying to do here. I wish there was something I could do to help. Well, at least I can encourage others (even those who are outside the USA like me) to watch the shows and spread the word. Something I learned from the show today: french fries are considered a vegetable in many (most/all?) school lunch programs in USA. Say what? In this 10-minute clip you can see the blood drain from Jamie's face when the school administrator informs Jamie that french fries are a "vegetable" and should be included to his menu. Whoa.

Now, I Iove, love, love potatoes! And I love the occasional bag of fries as well. They're great. But fries are not a vegetable! Yet it seems that in many school systems in the USA, french fries count as a serving of veg. That's ludicrous.
