Meeting the Wagasa Master in Kyoto

Here are a few snaps of my day with Nishibori Kotaro, the 5th-generation master craftsman of Japanese traditional umbrellas. Nishibori sensei is the president of Hiyoshiya, a company that was formed in the late Edo period. Doing research there for the next book. The inspiration for this next book was not the bento box but the wagasa. The wagasa is a perfect example of both complexity and simplicity. More on this soon.

"Simplexity":
John maeda, the traditional sword design and alloy for katana blade, The chinese and calligraphy painting, the zen garden mastering, all about the Harmony of beauty forged over time by the constant research of essential perfection.
Can we roughly shorten it like that?
