Got to see the presentation zen book in Japanese today at my friend's design studio in Osaka. The PZ book should be in book stores by next Thursday or so and you can order it now on Amazon Japan. In Japan, it's common for books to have a slip cover, so the pic above shows the book with the cover removed -- most people keep the cover on (or put their own cover on it). It's also common to have that wrap around banner promoting the book at the bottom. Most people take that off after they buy the book. It's one way to get attention without actually permanently putting a bunch of noise on the cover.
Mayumi Nakamoto is one of my long-time friends in Japan and the co-founder of a cool design shop called Recette. Mayumi did all the layout and localization design work for this book. It was a huge job. She did a beautiful job!
